Botox Cosmetic Soft Lift Approach

As we age, our faces slowly undergo the "3 Ds" of aging: deterioration (wrinkles and texture change), descent (droopiness of the skin), and deflation (a loss of volume).8 SOFT LIFT addresses the concerns of aging skin by combining the facial filler JUVEDERM® with BOTOX COSMETIC®. The result is a full facial rejuvenation effect that is balanced and natural looking.

With the SOFT LIFT approach, aesthetic practitioners use BOTOX COSMETIC® to treat upper facial lines, such as crow's feet, frown lines, and forehead lines. Along with JUVEDERM® to treat volume loss and folds in the mid to lower face. SOFT LIFT makes it possible to achieve a pleasing and refreshed look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my face still have expression?5
Your treatment is intended to enhance the way you look, not change it. When administered by our experienced physician, you can smile, frown, and be expressive. The treatment only relaxes the muscle beneath the lines at the point of injection, so the other elements of your facial expression remain active. It also has no effect on the sensory nerves, so you will have normal feeling in the treated areas.1

Are BOTOX COSMETIC® treatments safe?6
Botox has been licensed in Canada since 1990 as a safe and effective treatment for a variety of medical conditions. BOTOX COSMETIC® has been approved for use since 2001.

What is the treatment like?
A tiny amount of BOTOX COSMETIC® is injected very precisely into the muscle being treated. A very fine needle and a small amount of liquid is used, so the pain associated with the injection is minimal.1,3

How long does the treatment take?
The procedure is quick, simple, and there’s no down time. Following a facial analysis by your physician and a discussion on your desired outcome, the procedure itself only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to perform.

How much does a treatment cost?
The cost associated with a treatment is dependent on the amount of product needed and the areas of the face being treated. As an example, treating frown lines between the eyebrows typically costs $300 – $600 depending on the size of the area and the depth of the lines. Since the treatment results generally last up to four months2, it works out to being less than $5 a day.

How soon will I see a difference and how long does the treatment last?
You can expect to see results within days after your treatment. The appearance of wrinkles and lines may continue to diminish for up to one week7. The effects usually last up to four months.1

What are the side effects?1
The side effects can be pain, tenderness and/or bruising at the site of injection. Some people feel unwell for up to six weeks after injection. There may also be some weakness. Rarely, there may be changes in the way the heart beats, chest pain, skin rash, or an allergic reaction that may include shortness of breath or swelling of the face, lips or tongue.

Seek immediate medical attention if swallowing, speech or respiratory problems arise. Tell your doctor if you experience any difficulties in swallowing food while on BOTOX COSMETIC®, as it could be related to the dosage. Difficulty in swallowing food, ranging from very mild to severe, can persist for two to three weeks after treatment.

Are there creams that are better than BOTOX COSMETIC®?
There is no scientific evidence to suggest that creams work better than BOTOX COSMETIC®. Creams work well on the surface of the skin. BOTOX COSMETIC® works below the surface to relax the muscles that cause the lines and wrinkles to form.

How does BOTOX COSMETIC® work?

It targets what are known as dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repeated muscular contractions, such as frowning and squinting. It is an injectable treatment derived from a purified protein, works by relaxing the muscles that cause these dynamic wrinkles, giving your face a more relaxed and refreshed appearance.1 In addition, treatment is so quick and easy that you can often have it done over lunch.

Where can BOTOX COSMETIC® be used?1

Treatment areas include the frown lines between the eyebrows, the horizontal lines that run across the forehead, and the crow's feet around the outer eyes.
